The Parkinson's Information & Referral Center (I&R) established by the American Parkinson Disease Association in 2001,  serves as a central resource to help improve the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson's Disease, their families and healthcare professionals throughout the state of Maine.

Open to the general public, the I&R Center provides:

• Professional staff to assist you in obtaining information
• Parkinson's Disease educational material
• Classes and educational events
• Coordinates support groups throughout Maine
• Publishes a quarterly newsletter entitled Parkinson's Pages
• Maintains a lending library
• Maintains specialized listing of community resources
• Access to community health education programs through MaineHealth Learning Resource Centers
• Conducts community outreach to increase awareness

The I&R Center is housed at MaineHealth's Learning Resource Center in Falmouth and is a collaborative effort of the National and Maine Chapter of American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), the Maine Parkinson Society and MaineHealth.
